How to Self Regulate in 6 Minutes!

"God did not rescue me out of the pain, He rescued me through the pain!"

Self regulate in 6 minutes

You set sail on this adventure of life, not knowing what lies ahead. With each decision, comes twists and turns that may prove to be prosperous. On the other hand, your decisions may also send you down an ever-ending journey that spirals out of control, until one day, you are so lost, that there seems like no way out. It's as if you are drifting away, dwindling & wasting your resources with each passing day. It's times like these when you wish you could self regulate your body.

When we hit rock bottom, most of us tend to worry and dwell upon the situation. Our thoughts seem to always go to the dark place of despair.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP

WITH THAT NONSENSE!

What is Pranayama?

pran·a·ya·ma

/ˌpränəˈyämə/

noun

(in Hindu yoga) the regulation of the breath through certain techniques and exercises.

In Sanskrit, “prana” means life energy, and “yama” means control.

In Simple Terms: Pranayama is breath regulation. It's an important exercise for physical and mental wellness as a part of yoga. You could call it "Life Energy Control"

The Breath of Fire is a type of Pranayama and something I perform regularly. You can clear emotions out of your body instantly by performing this simple breathing technique. This technique has relieved my issues time and time again.

Feeling overwhelmed? Simply sit in a comfortable area and breathe. This has medical validity as well. Researchers discovered that rapid pranayama, including the breath of fire, reduces stress levels. This helps you feel calmer by reducing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activity. When the SNS is relaxed, it's not a conducive environment for disease so you are naturally healthier.

There is no right or wrong way. Simply put - Rapid breathing through your nose helps alleviate a multitude of stress, tension, and emotions in your body. We already know that removing stress and tension also removes mental and physical issues and this breath is a down-n-dirty way of getting a health boost, really fast.

How to Self Regulate - Easy Instructions

  • Breathe: Rapidly breathe through your nose only. This may feel like you are not getting enough air at first. Simply try as much as you can and if you need to take a few breaths through your mouth, that's ok. If you do need to breathe through your mouth, please keep the pace the same. These need to be quick breaths.

  • Block: Remove any unwanted thoughts. You can eliminate those bad thoughts for 6 minutes. Focus on your breathing. Focus on something that made you happy in the past. Heck, you can even focus on your left big toe. I don't care what you focus on, as long as it is neutral and you are not thinking about anything negative. Regardless of what situation you are in, as a human, you can make a conscious decision to not think about it for 6 minutes.

  • Squeeze & Focus: When you inhale and hold your breath, tighten your perineum muscles - the muscles you squeeze when urinating or ejaculating. Tighten your core by pulling your belly button to your spine, as much as you can. You want to give these 2 muscle actions a solid effort but not to the point of total exhaustion. In other words, don't turn your face purple. While squeezing, simply place your attention on the back of your head. See the example below.

  • Repeat: Do this 3 times or more until you feel better. It usually takes me about 3 rounds to balance my spirit. I request that you give at least 3 rounds. Don't quit before then. You can do this.

  • OVERDRIVE: If you are feeling frisky, try focusing on each of your chakras for a few seconds, maybe 10 breaths each. Cleanse your Chakras, starting at #1 and moving your way up. With each inhale, imagine, sense, and feel the emotion of bringing in positive energy from the universe. With each exhale, imagine, sense, and feel the emotion of releasing negativity out of your body.

SQUEEZING, FLUSHING & EUPHORIA

What is Cerebrospinal Fluid?

  • Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a liquid that continually circulates through the brain’s hollow cavities, known as ventricles, and around the surface area of the brain and spinal cord.

  • It cleans impurities from the brain, transfers nutrients, and provides a protective cushion to the brain and spinal cord.

Waves of cerebrospinal fluid which normally wash over brains during sleep, via a 12-hour cleaning cycle, can also be made to flush the brains of people who are wide awake.

Cerebrospinal Fluid Flush

This 'garbage clearance' is hugely improved during sleep. This is why you feel better if you 'sleep on it'. Have you ever been upset or in a bad mood and then went to sleep but when you woke up, everything was magically better? It was a brand new day!

The reason this happened, most likely, is that your cerebrospinal fluid flushed out the junk, and brought you back to homeostasis by regulation of the electrolyte balance, circulation of active molecules, and elimination of catabolites.

When you squeeze your pelvic muscles, it manually forces the cerebral spinal fluid to move up your spine and flush your brain more rapidly. When you squeeze and hold your breath, while focusing on the back of your brain, (the part of the brain that is being flushed), it produces a euphoric feeling.

GUIDED BREATHWORK

There are many different breathwork instructors and videos on the internet. You can choose whatever suits your needs. Here is one that I love and I use often. If you don't like this one, as always, simply go onto YouTube and look for something you like. This one is about 6 minutes long and should give you a good flush and refresh.

How do you feel?

If you gave it your all and followed the directions above, I would estimate that you feel better. Maybe you don't feel 100% better but I would estimate that you do feel at the very least 1%, 10%, or maybe even 50% better. Even if you are not past the point of pissed-offness, I would estimate that there was a point, during the breath work session, where you did start to feel better. Try again. Start there and give it your all!

There are only 2 reasons that you can't be in a better mood.

Either you are thinking about the past or the future.

Think in the PRESENT and Whalaa! It works like Magic!
